Minister Shhada Discusses Digital Transformation and Innovation Support with Macron
Minister Kamal Shhada met French President Emmanuel Macron at VivaTech to discuss advancing digital transformation and innovation support in Lebanon.

Kamal Shhada, Minister of Displaced Persons and Minister of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence, met with French President Emmanuel Macron during the tenth edition of the Viva Technology (VivaTech) exhibition. The meeting took place during an official visit alongside Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
The discussion, which lasted over an hour and a half, covered several strategic topics including technology, innovation, artificial intelligence, the development of competencies, enhancement of digital skills, and modernization of Lebanon’s technological infrastructure. These efforts aim to strengthen cooperation between Beirut and Paris.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to explore new avenues for bilateral collaboration focused on accelerating digital transformation, supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and promoting innovative initiatives with economic and social impact.
In parallel, the tenth VivaTech event served as a unique platform for Lebanese startups to showcase their expertise and innovations to an international audience comprising investors, technology companies, and decision-makers.
Lebanon’s participation in VivaTech reflects its commitment to establishing itself as an emerging innovation hub in the region and to developing strategic international partnerships that support its technological and economic development.
