Ministry of Economy Issues Violation Reports for Generators and Verifies Fuel and Food Safety

The Ministry of Economy and Trade announced that "in the framework of its ongoing campaigns to curb violations and protect consumer rights, the regional directorates of economy and trade, supported by security forces and under the supervision of the competent judiciary, continued to carry out strict inspection rounds covering electrical generators, food safety, specification compliance, and weighing operations in tanks and fuel stations.

In the South, inspection rounds by the Directorate of Economy and Trade resulted in the issuance of two violation reports against owners of electrical generators in the areas of Al-Bayad and Al-Shibriha-Qasr al-Sour district, for failing to comply with the official tariff set by the Ministry of Energy and Water per kilowatt/hour.

The Directorate also collected 5 samples of 95-octane gasoline, sealed them with lead, and deposited them at the specialized laboratory to conduct necessary tests and verify their octane rating compliance, pending appropriate legal measures based on the results.

In the Bekaa, the Directorate of Economy and Trade deployed inspection patrols in the towns of Qusaya, Raat, Ain Kafrzibed, Kafrzibed, Al-Fa'our, and Bdenail, as part of monitoring weighing files and ensuring compliance with approved standards. Additionally, 4 violation reports were issued against electrical generator owners for non-compliance with the official tariff issued by the Ministry of Energy and Water.

In the North, the Directorate of Economy and Trade announced the issuance of 5 violation reports against electrical generator owners in the Al-Qbeiat-Akkar area, for violating the official tariff issued by the Ministry of Energy and Water.

As part of following up on a received complaint, the Directorate collected 2 samples of Nars brand cosmetics from a commercial store in Zgharta, referring them to the competent authority to verify their authenticity and compliance, and to take the necessary legal action based on the results.

The Directorate also followed up on a customs declaration in Abi Samra to verify the implementation of the submitted commitment. An inspection of the warehouse revealed that ventilation met requirements and goods were elevated off the ground. It was also confirmed that Arabic labeling had been added to the 'corn flakes' packaging subject to the declaration.

In the context of the legal measures taken, the Directorate referred 22 violation reports to the Appellate Public Prosecution in the North to take the necessary legal actions."
