Ministry of Public Works Clarifies Reasons for Delay in Fayadieh Projects

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport clarified that "the ongoing works in Fayadieh initially began to address a pothole and repave the damaged section of the road. However, the scope of work expanded during execution after a major leak was discovered in one of the main water pipelines, necessitating intervention by the competent authority to repair the fault and fix the line.

In parallel, it was found that there were high-voltage underground electricity lines within the scope of the works, which required coordination with the relevant electricity authorities and the execution of works according to a precise technical sequence that respects safety requirements and prevents re-excavation or repetition of works at the same site.

As a result, the works are no longer limited to addressing the pothole and paving the road but have transformed into a joint intervention requiring coordination between several administrations and technical teams, necessitating additional time to complete the treatments correctly and safely.

While the ministry understands the inconvenience caused by the works and its impact on traffic flow, it confirms that coordination continues among the concerned parties to accelerate implementation as much as possible, noting that road works will be completed after the final resolution of the water and electricity networks issues."
