Official Schools Facing Closure Risk!
A lawmaker warns of a strategic plan to undermine public schools, citing financial excuses for closures while the state spends heavily on unused buildings.

Representative Edkar Trablsi, rapporteur of the Education Committee, stated: "There is no strategic plan to revive the official school system, and today they use a 'financial excuse' to close some schools, while the state spends large sums on buildings that are not being used. We support reducing waste, but not at the expense of education.
"He told MFM: "We urge the Ministry of Education and Municipalities to act swiftly to prevent the closure of several official schools in order to uphold the principle of education for all. There is confusion and lack of coordination with the ministry on multiple issues, not just the merger of official schools.
"Trablsi revealed a secret list of 10 new official schools set to close and be merged, stating that "the plan is clear: to undermine official schools in favor of the private sector."
