Raji Meets New WHO Representative on Health Sector Conditions

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Joseph Aoun received the new representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Lebanon, Dr. Ahmed Zouiten, who handed him a copy of his credentials to the Lebanese state.

Minister Aoun welcomed Zouiten, wishing him success in his new role, emphasizing the "strong historical ties that have linked and continue to link Lebanon with the World Health Organization."

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the organization’s global situation amid the financial constraints it is facing.

In turn, Dr. Zouiten expressed his satisfaction at taking on this responsibility, stating it was a "great honor to be in a position that allows support for the Lebanese people." He briefly briefed Minister Aoun on key health sector needs in Lebanon, praising the "medical personnel and health services provided," and affirming that he "will work to expand these services to reach all segments of the Lebanese population."
