The "Strong Lebanon" bloc held its regular meeting chaired by MP Gebran Bassil, discussing political affairs and legislative files, and issued the following statement:
1- The bloc considers that the ceasefire announced from Washington is being subjected to significant violations by the Israeli side, whether through continued shelling or the deliberate, systematic, and utterly unacceptable demolition of homes, which raises questions about the fate of the presumed negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, in which Israeli officials repeatedly state that they possess an absolute mandate to continue the war regardless of any political negotiations.
Lebanon, with all its factions, is called upon to reject the Israeli occupation of any Lebanese territory or the establishment of any security or buffer zone within it.
2- The bloc looks forward to the extraordinary Gulf Summit in Jeddah to formulate an Arab position, with the hope that this will positively impact Lebanon, which is subjected to aggression and which Israel is trying to isolate from its Arab environment. In this context, the bloc expresses its satisfaction with every Arab move and every embrace of Lebanon, with the aim of protecting its unity, liberating it, and strengthening the state's power.
3- The bloc warns against taking any hasty and ill-considered step that could lead to a new financial collapse in light of the increased need for spending and declining revenues, and calls on the authorities to fulfill their duties to prevent any misstep that would lead to economic deterioration exacerbating political crises.
