Tasks Performed by the Beirut City Guard Battalion in the Capital During July 2026

The Public Relations Office of the Beirut Municipality announced that, based on the report issued by the Beirut City Guard Battalion Operations Room regarding the field missions carried out by the battalion in the capital during July 2026, following instructions from Beirut Governor Judge Marwan Aboud and orders from the Beirut City Guard Battalion Commander Colonel Abbas al-Husseini, within the framework of strengthening security and public order, safeguarding public safety, and continuing to enforce laws and regulations across all districts of the capital.

The key missions carried out are as follows:

• 228 joint operations with the Beirut Police at the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces, implemented in accordance with a directive from Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad al-Hajar al-Rami to tighten traffic violation enforcement, reduce hazards threatening public safety, and enhance discipline on roads.

• 18 support missions for Beirut Municipality departments, including classified institutions, health services, traffic and sanitation offices, contributing to the facilitation of municipal operations and oversight of field affairs.

• 25 missions to remove violations and encroachments from streets and neighborhoods of Beirut, preserving public order and urban aesthetics.

• 61 diverse missions, including combating illegal waste digging, removing unauthorized street vendors, vehicles, and stalls, curbing begging, and prohibiting motorcycles from riding on the seafront promenade sidewalks, to ensure citizen and pedestrian safety; violation reports were documented and offenders referred to the competent judiciary.
