The U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon, Michel Aoun, visited the Maronite Patriarchate in Balamand and met with Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East. He expressed optimism about ongoing Lebanese-Israeli negotiations and emphasized President Donald Trump's commitment to peace in Lebanon.

The U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon, Michel Aoun, visited the Maronite Patriarchal headquarters in Balamand, where he met with Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East, accompanied by the president of Balamand University, Dr. Elias Waraq, the archimandrite of the Balamand Monastery, Father George Yacoub, and a group of priests.
After the meeting, Aoun expressed his pleasure at visiting Balamand University, stating it "is one of the most important universities in Lebanon and a model to emulate for shared life."
He continued, emphasizing that "Lebanese-Israeli negotiations take place every two or three weeks and are progressing significantly, bringing forward new solutions in each round," adding: "I am optimistic that they will help ease tensions in Lebanon and the region."
He concluded by affirming that "U.S. President Donald Trump loves Lebanon and is deeply concerned with achieving peace in the country."
