Vocational Teachers' Association: This Decision Clearly Undermines Teachers' Rights

The Association of Official Vocational and Technical Education Teachers in Lebanon stated in a statement that "the decision to stagger the retroactive effect of six salaries constitutes a clear infringement on teachers' rights and entitlements, especially since these are accumulated rights that cannot withstand further delay or installment payments."

The association called for "immediate reversal of this decision, particularly after the issuance of the Council of State's advisory opinion, which confirms teachers' rightful entitlements under legal procedures."

It emphasized that "the association will not remain idle in the face of any violation of teachers' rights and will employ all legitimate trade union and legal means, in coordination with other associations, to defend them."

It noted that "further steps and actions will be announced following today's afternoon 2:00 PM meeting of public sector associations."

The association stressed that "teachers' rights are not favors, and negotiation, installment plans, or postponement are unacceptable."
