The Ministry of Social Affairs continues to intensify its efforts to address the psychological and social repercussions resulting from war and displacement, by implementing support programs targeting children and families in various Lebanese regions and shelters, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and a number of local and international entities.

Minister of Social Affairs Haneen Al-Sayed announced via the “X” platform that the ministry is following up on the implementation of the social response plan aimed at providing psychological and social support services to the displaced and those affected by the crisis.

She indicated that these services are currently being provided in more than 410 displacement and shelter centers, in addition to 35 specialized centers for psychological and social support for women and children, as well as 8 development centers used as safe spaces for women.

She noted that teams of social and psychological specialists organize individual and group support sessions, in addition to recreational and interactive activities for children, to help them cope with feelings of fear, trauma, and the difficult experiences left by the war.

This comes amid growing concerns about the long-term psychological and social effects of displacement and military escalation, especially on children and families in areas that have been subjected to repeated raids and ongoing acts of violence.
