Contract Teachers Association in Basic Education: Tomorrow is a Regular Teaching Day
The Association of Contract Teachers in Official Basic Education in Lebanon announced that tomorrow is a regular teaching day in public schools, as contract teachers, who constitute 80% of the basic teaching staff, refuse to participate in the strike.

The Association of Contract Teachers in Official Basic Education in Lebanon announced, in a statement, that "tomorrow is a regular teaching day in public schools, as contract teachers, who constitute 80% of the basic teaching staff, refuse to participate in the strike."
It affirmed that "attendance tomorrow will be normal (in-person and remotely), as contract teachers will not comply with the strike, just as they did not comply with the strikes that took place during the past weeks."
The association called on "tenured teachers to stop playing with the nerves of teachers and students in this critical stage that the academic year and the country are going through together. We have said it and we say it: a strike is not an effective pressure tool in the last week of the academic year. Let the direction be towards more serious steps, including boycotting official exams, instead of continuing futile strikes, which only achieve increased oppression for students and increased bankruptcy for contract teachers."
It also thanked "all principals who cooperated during previous strikes, and who were contacted today to respect the right of contract teachers and students to education and learning tomorrow."
