Alexa Demie explains why she prefers a different level of fame than Sydney Sweeney, emphasizing personal choice in her career during a Hollywood Reporter interview.

Alexa Demie addressed the differences in fame between herself and her “Euphoria” co-star Sydney Sweeney in an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter. She shared insights into her experience working on the HBO series and reflected on her career journey.
In the interview, Demie responded to comparisons regarding her fame relative to Sydney Sweeney and other “Euphoria” co-stars. She questioned the narrative around her public profile by asking, “It’s like, did you ever think that I don’t want it?” She added, “People really take the authority out of your hands,” and wondered, “What happened to my ability to choose?” Demie expressed satisfaction with her current lifestyle, stating, “I like my life like this, and I wouldn’t change it.”
Additionally, Sam Levinson, the writer and producer of “Euphoria,” commented on Demie’s distinct career path compared to co-stars such as Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Hunter Schafer. Levinson described a “misconception about Alexa” and rejected the idea that she should achieve the same level of fame as others. He characterized that expectation as “a very high school mentality to bring to the craft.”
Levinson further explained, “I think Alexa is doing everything that she wants,” and if she lacks certain achievements, “it’s because she doesn’t want it.” He concluded by describing Demie as “completely fulfilled.”
