Alexa Demie expressed her feelings about Barbie Ferreira's decision to exit Euphoria after two seasons in a recent interview.

Alexa Demie shared her thoughts on Barbie Ferreira’s choice to depart from the HBO series Euphoria after its second season, well before the show wrapped up with its third and final season.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published on Sunday, May 31, Alexa commented on Barbie’s exit, which had surprised many fans given the show's popularity and acclaim at the time.
“I was bummed, but I really respected her decision, she has to take care of herself,” Alexa stated regarding her former co-star’s departure.
Barbie Ferreira portrayed Kat Hernandez during the first two seasons of Euphoria and announced her exit in 2022. Alexa described Barbie’s choice as “a brave move,” highlighting that she left a very successful series.
Earlier this year, Barbie discussed her reasons for leaving during an appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. She revealed that conversations about Kat’s storyline did not lead to a direction she found inspiring.
“In fact, it was kind of the opposite of dramatic, where it was a long process of being like, ‘I don’t know if this is it for me,’” Barbie explained. “And then having conversations with people and us trying to figure out how to make Kat a fully fleshed-out character, and it just wasn’t going anywhere.”
Additionally, Storm Reid recently commented on the conclusion of the series and addressed why her character was absent.
