The 52-year-old former actress confirmed in an Instagram comment that her wrist tattoo reading “de Gosling” is her only ink—and the only one she has ever wanted. The statement appeared beneath a carousel of black-and-white photos she shared on the platform “sometime this August.”
In one image from the series, Mendes posed in a car wearing a see-through short dress while prominently displaying the inscription “de Gosling” on her wrist. The phrase follows a naming convention common among married women in Hispanic cultures, where “de” means “of.” Its appearance suggests identification as Eva Mendes de Gosling.
Mendes previously showed the same tattoo in 2022, prompting widespread speculation at the time that it signaled a formal marriage to Ryan Gosling. Though rumors circulated that the couple secretly wed in 2016, no confirmation has ever been issued.
Mendes and Gosling have been in a relationship since 2011. They are parents to two daughters: Esmeralda Amada, born in 2014, and Amada Lee Gosling, born in 2016.
During a 2022 appearance on Today Australia promoting the Ronald McDonald House charity, Mendes referred to Gosling as “my husband Ryan” while saying, “I’m loving it here… Everybody is amazing, everybody is welcoming us, it’s been so beautiful.
