Prime Video debuts Gosling-produced romance starring Qualley

Ryan Gosling serves as a producer for "Love of Your Life," a romantic drama featuring Margaret Qualley that has launched globally on Prime Video. The film also includes performances by Gabriel Basso and Aaron Pierre.

Synopsis and release timeline

The narrative centers on Maya, whose life changes dramatically after meeting Charlie. An official synopsis describes their connection as sparking a sweeping romance with a future she never anticipated. When this envisioned path collapses suddenly, Maya faces an unexpected reality that compels her to reassess her identity, desires, and capacity for love.

Directed by Rachel Morrison from a screenplay by Julia Cox, the movie opened in limited theaters on October 7, 2026. It became available for streaming worldwide on Prime Video on October 14. The ensemble cast features Catherine Keener, Tamara Lawrance, and Corey Johnson in significant roles alongside the leads.

Creative team and critical reception

In an interview with Awards Watch, Morrison discussed Qualley’s portrayal of Maya. She noted the actress was excited by the script and the opportunity to play a character who is messy and flawed. Morrison emphasized that the primary challenge, which they discussed extensively, was ensuring the audience continued to root for Maya despite these traits.

Dustin O’Halloran composed the musical score for the production. Jill Taylor worked as costume designer, while Jennifer Vecchiarello handled editing duties. Laura Ellis Cricks served as production designer, and Todd Banhazl acted as director of photography. Jessie Henderson joined Ryan Gosling as producers on the project.

The R-rated film has received positive feedback since its theatrical debut over the past week. It currently holds an 80% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 25 reviews.
