Jack Whitehall has joined the cast of the upcoming romantic comedy “Otherwise Engaged”, directed by Suzanne Farwell and set to begin filming in New York in March 2027.

Jack Whitehall has been confirmed for a leading role in the romantic comedy “Otherwise Engaged”, joining Halle Berry, Zoë Kravitz, and Colin Firth in the ensemble cast. Suzanne Farwell will direct the film from a screenplay she co-wrote with Gabriel Mizrahi.

Plot and Production Timeline
“Otherwise Engaged” is scheduled to begin principal photography in New York in March 2027. The story centers on Charlie (Whitehall) and Gabby (Kravitz), a couple preparing to marry, whose plans unravel when Charlie’s estranged father — a fallen business tycoon recently released from prison — arrives at their doorstep and begins a romance with Gabby’s fiercely independent mother (Berry).
According to Deadline, the official synopsis states: “Charlie (Whitehall) is ready to marry the love of his life, Gabby (Kravitz), until his estranged father (Firth), a fallen business tycoon fresh out of prison, shows up on their doorstep and soon falls for Gabby’s fiercely independent mother (Berry). Now, their parents’ unlikely romance threatens to turn Charlie and Gabby’s dream wedding into their worst nightmare.”

Farwell described her involvement in the project, saying: “Having spent much of my career helping bring sophisticated relationship comedies to the screen, I couldn’t be more excited to bring my love for this genre to Otherwise Engaged. I’m thrilled to be working with such an extraordinary cast and creative team to bring it to life and look forward to introducing the project to the international marketplace at TIFF.”
Farwell is producing the film alongside Susan Cartsonis and Laura Riste. CAA Media Finance is handling U.S. sales. Mister Smith Entertainment holds international distribution rights and will commence pre-sales at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) Market.
