KATSEYE confirms Sophia Laforteza's Jan 2027 return, skips NA tour

Sophia Laforteza is scheduled to rejoin KATSEYE during the first week of January 2027, according to a statement released by HYBE x Geffen on Thursday (October 8).

The announcement clarifies that the 23-year-old member will not participate in the North American leg of THE WILDWORLD TOUR or any remaining promotional activities for 2026. Her hiatus began in August, when the label stated she required time to focus on her mental health and wellness with company support.

Return timeline and tour absence

Laforteza’s expected return date places her away from the group’s upcoming concerts, which are set to begin on October 13. The label has not specified her first performance back or provided a more precise date beyond the first week of January.

During her absence, KATSEYE has continued performing as a four-member unit consisting of Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, and Yoonchae. Fellow member Manon Bannerman has also been on hiatus since February; no return date was included for Bannerman in Thursday’s update.

Health focus and fan appreciation

HYBE x Geffen noted that Laforteza has been prioritizing her well-being and thanked EYEKONS, the group’s fandom, for their continued understanding. She previously missed several performances and promotional appearances, including European and U.K. dates of THE WILDWORLD TOUR in September.

The group is currently preparing for the streaming release of their documentary, KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS, scheduled for October 16.
