A limited production run for Meghan Markle’s new $148 holiday advent calendar signals a cautious strategy from the brand founder. Sources indicate that Markle is deliberately testing consumer response before committing to larger volumes, aiming to sidestep previous inventory challenges faced by her company, As Ever.

Strategic launch of festive box

The official As Ever page recently unveiled the product with a photo and the caption, “A little holiday magic is on its way. 24 days of sweet surprises, made for the joy of anticipation.” This release marks the brand’s first-ever holiday advent calendar, developed in partnership with Compartés, a Los Angeles-based chocolatier.

Inside the designer box, which draws inspiration from Markle’s Montecito home and garden, are 24 handcrafted chocolates. These confections incorporate flavors derived from As Ever’s signature spreads, specifically strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, and orange marmalade. Each piece features a countdown number written in Markle’s own handwriting and is finished with edible gold luster.

Pre-order availability details

Currently, the calendar is available exclusively through pre-order channels. A source speaking to Star Magazine noted that Markle personally enjoys high-quality chocolate. The informant observed that many standard advent calendars often contain lower-grade sweets, but Markle reportedly views this specific offering as both “beautiful and festive.”

To manage risk, As Ever has initiated a limited batch production. This approach allows the brand to assess market demand accurately before placing orders for additional stock. The decision follows past experiences where initial batches of Markle’s jam products sold rapidly, only for the brand to later hold significant unsold inventory.

According to the source, Markle “cannot afford another flop” and is therefore exercising greater deliberation with this launch. If the advent calendar performs well among followers, as predicted, the plan involves expanding into the broader gourmet chocolate sector. The source stated that Markle perceives substantial room for growth in this market segment.
