Slip of the Tongue in First White House Briefing: Karoline Leavitt's Successor Katie Zakharia Refers to Husband as 'President'
New White House Press Secretary Katie Zakharia made a slip of the tongue during her first briefing, referring to her husband as "the President" before correcting herself.

New White House Press Secretary Katie Zakharia made a slip of the tongue during her first press briefing on Tuesday, October 13, after referring to her husband as "the President" before correcting her statement.
Zakharia said, responding to a question about how she balances the responsibilities of her new position with raising her four children: "My president, sorry, I mean my husband.. It was a fortunate slip! My husband is here for two weeks because we have two birthdays in the family."
She clarified that her family currently resides in California and that her husband and children plan to move to the US capital, Washington. She added: "I adore my family, and they are my top priority."
Zakharia is married to a film producer who worked on the films "Young Washington" and "David," and co-produced "The Irishman." The couple has three sons and one daughter, aged between 6 and 12 years.
US President Donald Trump selected Zakharia to take over the role of White House Press Secretary, succeeding Karoline Leavitt, who left the position after approximately a year and a half to dedicate more time to her family following the birth of her second child.
According to Reuters, Zakharia has served as a senior communications advisor at the Trump Media & Technology Group, which operates the Truth Social platform, since June. She previously held the position of spokesperson for the US Department of Homeland Security and worked as a legal advisor for the conservative organization Fix California.
Zakharia officially began her duties on Monday, October 12, before holding her first press briefing the following day. The briefing lasted about 14 minutes, during which she answered a limited number of questions from journalists.
During the same briefing, Zakharia announced that the Trump administration had requested the resignation of US Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, amid reports of misconduct allegations, which Guilfoyle denied.
Zakharia became the third blonde woman to serve as White House Press Secretary during Trump's first and second presidential terms.
