Sydney Sweeney Discusses Cassie’s Finale in Euphoria
In the post-episode segment, Sweeney admitted, “I broke down when I read Cassie’s ending,” revealing the depth of her feelings about her character’s fate. The finale, titled “In God We Trust,” aired on HBO on Sunday, May 31.
The episode depicts Cassie coping with the death of her husband, Nate Jacobs, who died in the previous episode after a snakebite. Now, Cassie faces life alone in their mansion while dealing with increasing financial debt. The scene shows her sitting tearfully beside her ring light following Nate’s death.
Cassie and Maddy Partner in OnlyFans Venture
In the finale, Cassie teams up with Maddy Perez to launch an OnlyFans business. Their plan includes renting out bedrooms in Cassie and Nate’s house to other OnlyFans models. Cassie also proposes this idea to her sister Lexi, who declines to join the venture. Series creator Sam Levinson described the relationship between Cassie and Maddy as the season’s main love story.
Levinson explained, “They’ve been through so much together. All they really got is each other and a whole bunch of debt.”
Sweeney Shares Farewell to the Show
On Instagram, Sweeney posted behind-the-scenes photos from the season, captioning the post with three words: “It’s called… acting.” The images included moments from Cassie and Nate’s wedding and scenes set in a strip club, highlighting the range of her role throughout the season.
Following creator Levinson’s announcement, HBO confirmed that Euphoria has concluded with Season 3. Sweeney’s portrayal of Cassie sparked considerable discussion during the season, tracing the character’s journey from a suburban bride to an OnlyFans entrepreneur over eight episodes.
All seasons of Euphoria are currently available for streaming on HBO Max.
