A large number of Syrian drama stars participated in offering condolences to artist Nora Rahal on the death of her son Alex, during mourning ceremonies held in Damascus amid an atmosphere of intense grief.

The mourning hall witnessed a notable presence of prominent Syrian artists, including Bassam Kousa, Abdulmoneim Amayri, Rozina Ladhqani, Milad Youssef, and Mohamed Hadaqi, who were keen to offer condolences and support to Nora Rahal in her ordeal.

Artist Nora Rahal arrived at the mourning venue to receive mourners, showing signs of grief over the loss of her son, amidst feelings of sorrow that pervaded the attendees who offered words of solace to her and her family.

The mourning came a few days after Nora Rahal announced the death of her son via her social media accounts, where she posted a picture of him and bid him farewell with moving words without revealing the cause of death at the time.

The funeral ceremony for Alex had taken place on June 30 in the Mar Elias Church in the Rabieh area of Mount Lebanon, attended by family members and a number of artists and close friends, amidst moving scenes reflecting the magnitude of the shock the family is experiencing.

Alex, whose full name is Alexandros Apostolopoulos, was born on July 6, 2002, and is the eldest son of artist Nora Rahal from her previous marriage to a Greek businessman, and she also has another son named Philippos.

Nora Rahal is considered one of the most prominent Syrian artists, having begun her artistic career in the 1990s, achieving notable presence in both singing and acting, before stopping for a period due to her battle with breast cancer in 2007, then later returning with diverse artistic works.

Her last appearance was in the series "Lobby of Love" in which she starred during the Ramadan 2026 drama season, continuing her artistic activity after years of successes in drama and singing.

Media personality Sabine Nahhas revealed details of the last hours in the life of Nora Rahal's son, explaining that an injury from glass caused severe bleeding that led to his death.

Nahhas explained in a video clip posted on her Facebook account that Alex sustained a serious injury after his leg hit a glass door, causing the glass to shatter and a shard to embed in his leg, cutting the main artery and causing severe bleeding.

The media personality mentioned that the young man lost about four and a half liters of blood, and despite the seriousness of his condition, he managed to leave his house fully conscious, and kept hopping on one leg until he reached the car that transported him to a hospital in Beirut.

She added that Alex's heart stopped immediately upon arrival at the hospital, but the medical team succeeded in resuscitating him, and he remained in intensive care for five days before passing away due to the injury.

Nora Rahal had previously announced the death of her son, asking her fans to pray for him and grant her patience in her affliction, without announcing the date of the funeral or details of the burial.

Nora Rahal posted a message on her Facebook account saying: "Whoever believes in me, even if they die, will live. With all faith and hope in the resurrection of Christ, I bid farewell to my beloved son and angel Alex, and entrust him into the hands of the Lord, may the Lord grant him eternal rest, and may his memory be eternal in our hearts and prayers."
