UAE thwarts 750,000 cyberattack attempts
The UAE Cybersecurity Council reported blocking nearly 750,000 cyberattacks targeting vital sectors like energy and education.

The UAE government’s Cybersecurity Council confirmed that national efforts to monitor and counter digital threats remain active. This ongoing vigilance addresses a rising frequency of attack attempts directed at critical infrastructure, particularly the energy and education sectors. These developments coincide with the rapid evolution of global cybersecurity threat methodologies.
Nature of blocked cyber threats
According to the council, the national cybersecurity system detected and repelled approximately 750,000 cyberattack attempts during the recent period. The intercepted threats included remote code execution attempts, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, and phishing operations. Additionally, the system countered AI-enhanced cyberattacks and other sophisticated threat patterns.
These detection and response operations function within an integrated national framework. The approach relies on continuous monitoring, early detection, advanced analysis, and proactive response mechanisms. Coordination with relevant national authorities strengthens the protection of digital infrastructure and enhances the readiness and resilience of vital sectors against cyber risks.
Interpretation of attack volume data
The council emphasized that the high number of recorded attack attempts does not necessarily indicate successful breaches. Instead, the figures reflect the efficiency of national capabilities in identifying threats, managing them, and mitigating their risks. This effectiveness contributes to maintaining the continuity of digital services across the country.
The UAE continues to develop its domestic cybersecurity capacities by deploying advanced technologies and artificial intelligence. Strengthening integration and cooperation among concerned entities remains a priority. These measures aim to improve the efficiency of cyber defense systems and keep pace with evolving threats.
Protecting digital infrastructure and vital sectors is designated as a national priority. The council stated that sustained proactive efforts demonstrate the UAE’s commitment to securing its cyberspace. These actions support the stability and sustainability of essential public services.
