Canadian former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has caused a major stir on social media after appearing dancing in a Montreal appliance store with American singer Katy Perry.
A viral video shows Trudeau holding a toilet plunger alongside Perry, sparking a wave of sarcastic comments across social media platforms.
Just four days after the dance video went viral, Trudeau appeared serious in front of the media discussing Canada-U.S. trade negotiations, affirming that they "will reach the right place."
Trudeau’s previous remarks had already ignited controversy when he told reporters on the red carpet at the Tribeca Film Festival that "he didn’t notice anything except Katy" during his three visits to her concerts.
This appearance came less than a year after Trudeau, 54, separated from his wife Sophie Grégoire, and after Perry, 41, ended her engagement to Orlando Bloom.
Since their relationship began last July, the couple has been seen together at numerous events—from a yacht in California to birthday parties in Paris, sea voyages in Mykonos and Saint-Tropez, up to Perry’s official meeting with former Japanese Prime Minister in Davos.
Notably, trade talks between the two countries collapsed completely last Saturday, coinciding with the implementation of new 50% tariffs. Yet Trudeau and Perry continue their relationship without any sign of being affected by these developments.
