New regulatory procedures for covering Hani Shaker's funeral include a uniform and special permits, with specified arrival times for the body, funeral rites, and condolences.

The Photographers' Division of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate began implementing the first official protocol for organizing funeral coverage, coinciding with the funeral and condolence ceremonies for the late artist Hani Shaker, in a framework aimed at preserving the sanctity of the occasion and regulating media coverage to respect the privacy of the deceased's family.

Rules for Photographers Attending Hani Shaker's Funeral

Magdy Ibrahim, head of the Photographers' Division, announced the launch of a registration form for photographers wishing to cover the event, aiming to reduce the presence of non-specialists or those impersonating journalists on social media platforms, with a commitment to being in designated areas, wearing a uniform, and relying on a pre-registered database.

The head of the division stressed that violating the professional rules governing coverage will be met with measures including union investigation or criminal accountability, based on what the family of the late artist decides.
