Cameli and Bright debunk Off Campus feud rumors at VMAs

Fans speculated about tension between co-stars Belmont Cameli and Ella Bright after noticing archived Instagram posts. The actors addressed these rumors directly while presenting together at the 2026 MTV VMAs on September 27.

Actors dismiss online feud speculation

Bright found the rumors amusing when speaking with Entertainment Tonight. She noted that the speculation was particularly funny because she spends every day on set with Cameli. "It is pretty wild It’s so funny," she said. "I mean, it’s really funny because we spent all, all days I’m on set, I’m with Belmont."

She described how they discussed the rumors in real time. "So, we’re like in the green room and he’s like, ‘Have you seen this?’ I’m like, ‘Lol.'” Bright emphasized that nothing happened between them. "Sitting right next to him, scrolling on our phones, ‘Oh, you saw that? Do you remember when I said that?’ It’s like, never happened. It’s so funny. Honestly, it’s great. It’s hilarious.”

The actress confirmed their bond remains intact. When asked if they were still good, she stated, “He’s one of my best friends. He doesn’t need to know that. But he he’s the best.” Cameli echoed her sentiment regarding the false reports.

Co-stars confirm strong friendship

Cameli admitted he laughed upon hearing the initial speculation. "I couldn’t I like when I first heard those, I mean, I laugh every time I hear them. I’m happy to put them to bed. I mean, Ella and I are extremely close,” he explained. He also commented on the pair reading online reactions together.

"It’s really entertaining and sometimes fascinating the conclusions people will jump to that’s certainly not one of them. She’s the best,” Cameli said. Upon being reminded of Bright’s earlier praise, he simply agreed. “It is true,” he added.

The two stars remain committed to the Off Campus universe. Season 2 is scheduled for release on Prime Video in 2027.
