Kuwaiti authorities have apprehended a content creator who used social media to promote marijuana by disguising it as harmless and appealing to youth.

The Criminal Security Sector in Kuwait, through the General Department for Combating Drugs, has executed a decisive preemptive operation against a major source of online misinformation by arresting a content creator who transformed his social media accounts into platforms for influencing followers towards drug addiction.
The suspect did not rely on traditional methods of drug dealers operating in dark rooms. Instead, he exploited psychological manipulation and attractive content creation, targeting a highly sensitive audience.
His approach included presenting marijuana in a positive and cheerful light to remove psychological barriers and fears associated with trying the drug. He also propagated false scientific claims, asserting that marijuana is a natural and harmless substance without the usual addiction risks. Furthermore, his content aimed to attract young people and teenagers, encouraging them to imitate his behavior and alter their societal beliefs about drugs.
Behind the scenes, drug enforcement officers meticulously monitored every pixel and second of his broadcasts. A specialized technical team was formed to trace the suspect's digital footprint and close any loopholes.
Following complex cyber investigations and surveillance, the suspect's identity was precisely determined. Security forces then launched a swift ambush that resulted in his arrest while caught in the act.
During interrogation, confronted with his videos and conclusive evidence displayed on screens, the suspect fully collapsed and admitted ownership of the accounts, confirming that he filmed and published the misleading content. Consequently, strict legal measures were taken against him, and he was immediately referred to the competent authorities to face imprisonment after attempting to sell illusions to the youth.
