Neighbor killed Rama, 8, after luring her to buy coffee

The mystery surrounding the death of eight-year-old Rama Yazen Al-Masri has been resolved following a crime that shocked the Arab public. Her body was discovered in the countryside near Damascus four days after she vanished under mysterious circumstances. The perpetrator was identified as a family neighbor whom the relatives had trusted.

How the attack unfolded

The tragedy began when the young girl stepped out to retrieve an item from a nearby shop. A young man living alone in the house adjacent to the family’s residence lured her inside by asking her to purchase coffee for him. Once she entered, he dragged her further into the home and locked the door. When she started screaming for help, he struck her head with a heavy iron object, causing her to collapse unconscious and bleeding.

Hours of cold-blooded indifference

Details revealed a disturbing psychological aspect to the crime. The suspect left the child bleeding in his home from 5:00 PM until 11:00 PM, the time she died. During these long hours, he calmly went outside to spend time with Rama’s family while they searched frantically for her across the area, showing no signs of suspicion.

Body disposal and arrest

The next day, the killer climbed to his roof and emptied the water tank. He wrapped the child’s body in a blanket and placed it inside the tank. Early on the following morning, he carried the remains and dumped them at a garbage site. The crime was uncovered only after a female relative noticed suspicious bloodstains on the inside of the neighbor’s door. Security forces intervened immediately, arresting the suspect and unraveling one of the most horrific domestic and societal crimes.
