Sydney Towle died on August 5, 2026, at the age of 26, following a three-year illness caused by cholangiocarcinoma — a rare cancer originating in the bile ducts.

She received the diagnosis at age 23. The bile ducts are tubes linking the liver to the gallbladder and the small intestine.

This week, her brother disclosed she had entered hospice care.

Social media announcement confirms death

A post published today confirmed her passing. It included a photograph and the message: “Rest in Peace Sydney Elizabeth Towle. An endless ray of sunshine. A daughter, a sister and friend to so many.”

The caption read: “We will always love you so much Sydney. I am so proud of how hard you fought. I love you.”

What is cholangiocarcinoma?

Cholangiocarcinoma is a rare form of cancer that develops in the bile ducts. According to the Mayo Clinic, individuals should consult a physician if they experience persistent fatigue, abdominal pain, jaundice, or other concerning symptoms.

Our thoughts are with Sydney Towle’s friends, family, and loved ones. RIP.
