President Donald Trump diverted from a women's health executive order signing to discuss Rose Garden renovations, including stone patios and seat cushions.

President Donald Trump shifted focus during a Monday event dedicated to women’s health, spending time discussing architectural updates to the White House. The remarks occurred during a signing ceremony for an executive order, where Trump initially thanked First Lady Melania Trump, prompting applause from attendees in the Rose Garden.
Before beginning his formal address, Trump gestured for the audience to sit, drawing attention to the white stone patio installed by his administration last year. He described the surface as "beautiful," noting that it had become the most popular location for news conferences. According to the president, the original grass area was situated on wetland soil, causing it to remain saturated even without recent rainfall.
Trump linked this drainage issue to footwear damage among female visitors. He stated that many women had ruined their shoes while attempting to use the previous lawn, which he characterized as ineffective. The new stone installation, he claimed, resolved these problems and improved the overall experience for guests.
The president extended his commentary to the seating arrangements, specifically praising yellow four-inch cushions placed on the patio chairs. He noted that these cushions were specially made and offered greater comfort than prior options. His tangent lasted approximately two minutes before he returned to the primary subject of the event.
Trump also referenced other infrastructure projects, pointing toward the White House helipad and describing plans for a ballroom-military complex. He asserted this facility would be the greatest ever built. Finally, he credited First Lady Melania Trump with originating the concept for a women’s health division within the National Institutes of Health.
