A woman in Venezuela gave birth while trapped beneath the debris of a building that collapsed during the destructive earthquake that struck the country.

The newspaper "El Mundo" reported this event and shared a video on the Facebook platform.

According to the report, volunteers assisted the woman in delivering her baby despite the absence of electricity and medical equipment.

The violent earthquake hit Venezuela on the evening of June 24, registering two seismic events approximately 40 seconds apart, with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5.

The epicenters of both quakes were located about 10 kilometers apart in the Venezuelan state of Yaracuy, and nearly 30 aftershocks were recorded following the main tremors.

According to the country's Health Minister Carlos Alvarado, 235 people died and more than 4,300 were injured. Dozens of buildings were destroyed, the Venezuelan authorities declared a state of emergency, and the coastal state of La Guaira was designated a disaster zone.
