Four World Cup Teams, Including Morocco, Choose New Jersey Bases
New Jersey will host training camps for Morocco, Brazil, Senegal, and Haiti during the 2026 World Cup, with the final set for MetLife Stadium.

New Jersey has secured training bases for four national teams competing in the 2026 World Cup, with Morocco joining Brazil, Senegal, and Haiti in selecting facilities across the state. The Athletic reported that the teams have finalized their choices, with an official announcement expected this week, positioning New Jersey as one of the most sought-after locations for the tournament co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Morocco's "Atlas Lions" will train at the Breezy Point School facility, a venue previously used during the 1994 World Cup by Italy, which reached the final that year. Brazil, the 1994 champion, will set up camp at the Columbia Park Training Center, part of the New York Red Bulls complex, which recently underwent major upgrades. Haiti will use Stockton University, while Senegal will train at Rutgers University.
MetLife Stadium and the Final
MetLife Stadium in New Jersey is scheduled to host the tournament final on July 19, 2026, in addition to several group-stage matches. Despite some tensions between FIFA and state authorities over transportation costs, the selection of four major teams is seen as a positive sign of New Jersey's standing as a global destination for major sporting events.
Governor Phil Murphy expressed enthusiasm for hosting the teams, calling the event a historic opportunity to boost economic activity and tourism while welcoming millions of fans from around the world.
