French midfielder Aurelien Tchouaméni has been seen for the first time since his physical confrontation with Uruguayan teammate Federico Valverde during a Real Madrid training session. The player was photographed driving away from the club’s training facility as journalists and fans gathered to capture footage of the squad leaving the pitch.
Real Madrid confirmed it has opened disciplinary proceedings regarding the fight between Valverde and Tchouaméni. The club stated that Valverde suffered a concussion from the incident and may miss Sunday’s Clásico against Barcelona in La Liga. Valverde, however, issued an official statement denying he sustained a concussion as a result of the altercation with Tchouaméni.
Heightened Tensions Ahead of Clásico
The team is preparing for the Clásico against its traditional rival Barcelona amid a charged atmosphere. Tensions have been running high at the club recently, with reports of defender Antonio Rüdiger slapping teammate Álvaro Carreras, according to media accounts. The fight between Valverde and Tchouaméni has further inflamed the environment, casting a shadow over preparations for the match.
Real Madrid currently sits second in the La Liga standings, trailing leaders Barcelona by 11 points with 35 rounds played.
