In a long-awaited move by gaming enthusiasts, Microsoft officially began rolling out the new "Xbox mode" to Windows 11 users in selected markets. This update aims to bridge the gap between personal computers and home gaming platforms (Consoles), by providing an immersive user interface that makes controlling games via a "controller" a smooth and professional experience.
This interface first appeared under the name "Xbox Full-Screen Experience" on mobile devices such as ROG Ally, but due to its great popularity, Microsoft decided to expand its scope to include:
Desktop PCs.
Laptops.
Tablets running Windows 11.
The new feature is not limited to changing the appearance; it also offers software solutions that make gamers' lives easier:
Unified Library: The interface collects your games from various platforms such as Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox Game Pass in one place.
Full Controller Control: The interface allows navigation, selecting games, and launching them using a controller (Joystick) without needing to touch the mouse or keyboard.
Quick Access: A simplified interface inspired by the Xbox system allows resuming recent games with a single button press.
Seamless Transition: The ability to return to the traditional Windows desktop immediately after finishing playing without complications.
The update began gradually reaching users in specific markets starting from April 30, and is expected to extend to all countries worldwide in the coming weeks.
To ensure "Xbox mode" reaches you as soon as it's available in your region, follow these steps:
Open الإعدادات (Settings) in Windows 11.
Go to the Windows Update section.
Enable the option "الحصول على أحدث التحديثات بمجرد توفرها" (Get the latest updates as soon as they're available).
Once the update arrives, you will find the option to activate Xbox mode within the system settings or via the updated Xbox app.
With this update, Microsoft confirms that Windows 11 is not just a system for work and productivity, but rather an "integrated gaming platform" that gives users the best of both PC and console worlds.
