ASUS Googlebook 14 debuts with sub-1kg magnesium-aluminum chassis

Starting at just 0.99 kg, the newly announced ASUS Googlebook 14 combines a magnesium-aluminum build with advanced OLED visuals and Gemini Intelligence capabilities. This 14-inch device runs on Googlebook OS and measures only 10.9 mm at its thinnest point, positioning itself as a lightweight option for users seeking Android integration and high-end specifications.

Display and durability specs

The laptop features a 14-inch, 16:10 OLED touchscreen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and delivers up to 1,000 nits of HDR brightness. Color accuracy is covered by 100% DCI-P3 gamut support, while Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protects the panel from scratches and impacts.

ASUS notes that the CNC-machined chassis undergoes Nano Ceramic treatment and has passed MIL-STD 810H testing standards. These measures aim to ensure structural resilience despite the machine’s slim profile and light weight.

Hardware configuration options

Under the hood, buyers can choose between Intel Core Ultra 5 Series 3 or Core Ultra 7 Series 3 processors, both equipped with integrated Intel graphics. Memory configurations range from 16GB to 64GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM, paired with storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSDs.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, alongside two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1b, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Power is supplied by a 70Wh battery rated for up to 18 hours of use, charged via a 65W USB-C adapter.

Gemini AI and software features

Gemini plays a central role in the user experience through features like Magic Pointer, which allows users to select on-screen items and request information, comparisons, or generated content from the AI. The system also offers proactive suggestions based on current display content.

Android integration enables task continuation from compatible phones and displays mobile apps directly on the laptop screen. Each unit comes with 12 months of Google AI Pro, granting access to expanded Gemini features, Flow, and Gemini Notebook tools.

Security and availability details

Security hardware includes a Titan C chip, a fingerprint sensor, and an FHD webcam equipped with a physical privacy shutter. ASUS has not yet disclosed pricing or a specific commercial release date for the Googlebook 14 configurations.
