Asus Unveils ROG GR70, a Compact Gaming Laptop with Advanced Ryzen CPUs

At Computex 2026, Asus revealed new versions of the ROG GR70 laptop, designed to rank among the best compact computers for modern video game enthusiasts.

The base model of the ROG GR70 is powered by the Ryzen 9 8940HX processor from the Dragon Range series. A higher-tier model includes the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor from the Fire Range series, which features an additional 64 MB cache. There is also a mid-range option equipped with the Ryzen 9 9955HX processor. The base edition comes with a GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card, while the two higher models are equipped with GeForce RTX 5070 graphics processors.

The laptop measures 282.4 by 187 by 56.5 millimeters and weighs 2.73 kilograms. It supports DDR5 SO-DIMM RAM modules with capacities up to 32 gigabytes.

Connectivity options include six USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port, one USB4 port, two HDMI 2.1 ports, two DisplayPort 2.1 ports, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The cooling system consists of three fans.

Currently, two versions of the ROG GR70 are available. One features the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor, RTX 5070 graphics, 32 GB of RAM, and a 2-terabyte SSD, priced at $3,196. The other version is equipped with the Ryzen 9 9955HX processor and is priced at $3,135.
