Instagram introduces new interactive and editing features for Meta smart glasses users to create more engaging and professional stories.

Instagram has announced the rollout of several new features tailored for users of Meta smart glasses, including Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta models, aiming to enhance the experience of creating and sharing stories. These updates enable users to produce more professional and interactive content through new video editing tools and innovative story display methods.
Among the key additions is the Spin View feature, which allows story viewers to explore scenes from different angles by moving their phones while watching. This provides a more interactive experience compared to traditional stories. Instagram also introduced the Multi-Cam feature, enabling the combination of footage recorded by Meta glasses with video captured on a smartphone within a single story. The two recordings are automatically synchronized to show different perspectives of the scene simultaneously.
The updates further include new video editing tools for clips recorded with the smart glasses. These tools encompass the Expand feature, which adjusts the frame to focus on the main subject, the Audio tool designed to enhance sound quality and reduce ambient noise, and the Speed tool that allows users to control video playback speed to suit the story’s nature.
Instagram clarified that all these tools are accessible through the story editor within the app. Users can select photos and videos captured by Meta glasses, which are marked distinctly in the photo gallery, and then directly use the new features to craft stories that are more polished and engaging. This development reflects the company’s direction toward supporting content creators and expanding the capabilities of smart glasses in digital content production.
