Meta Launches $7.99 Monthly Meta One Subscription for AI-Enhanced
Meta has introduced Meta One, a tiered paid subscription service offering expanded AI tools across Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, with individual plans starting at $7.99 monthly and business tiers up to $499.

Meta has rolled out a new paid subscription service named Meta One, delivering AI-powered enhancements across its core consumer applications — Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp.
Expanded Access Beyond Influencers
Unlike earlier subscription offerings that targeted influencers and public figures exclusively, Meta now aims to attract everyday users to pay a recurring monthly fee for an AI-enriched experience.
What Meta One Includes
The Meta One service builds upon the individual subscription plans Meta launched in June: Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus, and WhatsApp Plus. Those plans already offer features such as notifications when specific users view your Instagram Story and the ability to keep Stories live for 48 hours instead of the standard 24.
Subscribers to Meta One receive all Plus-tier features plus expanded AI functionality — including image creation and editing, video generation, and other capabilities powered by Meta’s Muse models.
Pricing Tiers for Individual Users
Three options are available to regular users:
- Meta One Core at $7.99 per month — includes all individual Plus plan features plus extended AI access;
- Instagram Plus at $3.99 per month — available separately and featuring story viewership alerts and 48-hour Story duration;
- Meta One Premium at $19.99 per month — provides higher AI usage limits.
Business and Creator Plans
Four additional tiers serve content creators and enterprises:
- Essential at $14.99 monthly — includes verification badge and access to Meta’s commercial agent, a chatbot designed to handle customer interactions;
- Advanced at $49.99 monthly — adds story scheduling and increased AI usage allowances;
- Expert at $149 monthly — delivers enhanced capabilities for the commercial agent;
- Max at $499 monthly — tailored for large teams managing extensive operations.
Financial Context Behind the Rollout
The introduction of these subscriptions coincides with mounting financial pressure on Meta, driven by its heavy investment in artificial intelligence. The company’s cash flow declined by approximately $8 billion, while competitors advance in the same domain. Separately, Meta’s metaverse division has recorded losses exceeding $80 billion over six years. The company is now seeking new revenue streams to justify its substantial AI expenditures.
