A definitive timeline for the Android 17 upgrade across OnePlus hardware has been published, marking the end of OxygenOS as the primary interface. The brand confirmed that 24 specific models will receive the new operating system, which is built upon Oppo’s ColorOS foundation.

The shift from OxygenOS to ColorOS

This transition follows the cessation of OnePlus global operations in July. While the company committed to maintaining software support for existing units throughout their promised lifespans, the underlying platform changes with this major release. Users will no longer interact with OxygenOS; instead, supported devices will migrate to ColorOS beginning with Android 17.

Industry observers note that the visual and functional distinctions between the two interfaces have become minimal. Oppo’s design language had already heavily influenced the OnePlus user experience in recent years, making the switch largely a rebranding exercise rather than a radical overhaul.

Rollout dates and device list

The deployment begins later this month. The initial wave starts on October 29, targeting the OnePlus 15 and the OnePlus Pad 4. The following day, October 30, sees updates arrive for the OnePlus 15R and the entire OnePlus 13 series.

Support extends through the first quarter of 2027 for other key models, including the OnePlus Open and the OnePlus 12. The full roster of eligible devices includes:

  • OnePlus Nord CE6
  • OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition
  • OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite
  • OnePlus Nord CE5
  • OnePlus Pad Go 2
  • OnePlus Pad Lite

In total, 24 OnePlus devices are currently promised Android 17 updates. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 16 launches with this update out of the box in China.
