Pixel Watch 5 to Launch with New Pyrite Color and $399 Starting Price

Google’s upcoming Pixel Watch 5 series is expected to launch with a starting price of $399, representing an approximate $50 increase compared to the Pixel Watch 4. This adjustment marks the first series-wide price hike since the original Pixel Watch debuted at $349.

According to reports from Dealabs, the Pixel Watch 5 lineup will include four variations across two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, each offered in two variants. This structure mirrors the Pixel 11 series, which also experienced a similar price increase.

The price rise of about 15% year-over-year brings the Pixel Watch 5’s entry cost in line with that of the Apple Watch Series 11, despite no significant visible upgrades to the smartwatch’s hardware. The enhancements are expected to be primarily internal or software-based, with the rumored inclusion of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset, though this remains unconfirmed.

On the hardware front, the Pixel Watch 5 will introduce a new color option called Pyrite, described as a matte gold or tan shade. This addition is alongside three other colors: Natural Silver (polished finish, available in both 41mm and 45mm), Dark Anthracite (matte finish, both sizes), and Warm Gold (polished finish, 41mm only). This information was reported by both Dealabs and Nieuwe Mobiel, with the latter providing a mockup of the Pyrite color.

Notably, the color lineup for Pixel Watch 5 represents a reduction compared to the Pixel Watch 4, which offered Polished Silver, Matte Black, Champagne Gold (41mm only), and Satin Moonstone (45mm only). However, the signature color options are now available across both sizes for the new model.

Google has officially announced an event scheduled for August 12 to unveil its new Pixel devices, with reports suggesting the Pixel Watch 5 will be released on August 20.
