Scheduled for 2027, a hotel in Guangdong Province will be the first in the world to operate completely through robotic automation, managed by Pudu Robotics.

The facility will deploy robots to manage all primary services including reception, room service, housekeeping, food preparation, and guest support, representing a comprehensive shift toward automated hospitality.

Robotic Integration in Hospitality Services

Located on West Artificial Island along the Shenzhen-Zhongshan (ShenZhong) Link, the hotel is described as the first “full-scenario robot-serviced hotel,” where robots will execute every significant hospitality function.

During the hotel signing event, Pudu Robotics showcased its integrated hospitality robots in action. Visitors experienced autonomous retail through FlashBot’s intelligent vending system, while the PUDU T300 robot handled heavy luggage transport and operated elevators with a 661-pound (300-kilogram) payload capacity. Cleaning robots, including the PUDU CC1 Pro and PUDU MT1, continuously maintained the site using AI-powered waste detection and autonomous floor cleaning technologies.

The BellaBot Pro served freshly brewed coffee, interacting with guests via voice and lighting effects, and KettyBot Pro delivered snacks and beverages while displaying event information on its screen. The demonstration concluded with performances by the PUDU D5 robot, illustrating how robots can engage guests alongside automating core hotel tasks.

Public trials for the hotel are planned to begin in late 2026, initially opening a limited number of guest rooms. This phase will allow visitors to experience robot-powered reception, autonomous in-room deliveries, and other AI-driven hospitality features ahead of the full opening.

The project is a collaboration with Shenzhen Culture & Tourism Industry Development, aligned with plans to develop West Artificial Island, which officially opened in December 2025. Cong Guo, Co-founder and CTO of Pudu, stated the initiative offers a chance to explore new AI and robotics service models that deliver intelligent, end-to-end experiences in real-world settings.

Technological Foundation of the Robotic Hotel

Unlike typical smart hotels that automate isolated tasks, Pudu’s hotel operates as a fully integrated robotic ecosystem where multiple robots coordinate throughout the guest experience.

Robots will communicate via a shared intelligence platform to provide continuous, personalized services across check-in, concierge, room delivery, dining, housekeeping, and other amenities. This integration extends to back-of-house logistics, aiming to create one of the world’s first fully autonomous, end-to-end robotic hospitality environments.

The hotel’s robotic operations will be powered by Pudu’s embodied intelligence foundation model, PuduFM 1.0, and the general embodied AI platform, PuduAgent. These systems utilize Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models and world-model-driven navigation to enable robots with diverse designs and functions to operate under a unified AI framework.

Reception robots will interpret speech, gestures, and social cues; delivery robots will autonomously optimize routes; and cleaning robots will adjust dynamically to their environments. By sharing intelligence and learned capabilities across robot types, the platform aims to accelerate deployment, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure consistent service throughout the hotel, according to Pudu.
