Xiaomi 18 3D display rumor lacks technical evidence
A single Weibo post suggests the standard Xiaomi 18 may feature glasses-free 3D, but no patents or schematics support this claim.

A lone social media post on Weibo has sparked speculation that the standard Xiaomi 18 might incorporate a glasses-free 3D screen. The company has not validated this report, and no patent filings or schematic designs currently exist to substantiate the technology's inclusion in the device.
The alleged panel would rely on naked-eye 3D methods, projecting distinct images to each eye to simulate depth without auxiliary eyewear. While such displays appear in other consumer electronics, their integration into smartphones has previously resulted in restricted viewing angles and potential discomfort during prolonged usage.
Technical hurdles remain unresolved
Chinese display manufacturers continue to allocate resources toward overcoming these optical limitations, utilizing eye-tracking systems and real-time image processing algorithms. However, the current leak provides no specific technical specifications for how Xiaomi might implement this feature, suggesting a prototype demonstration at a trade event is more likely than an immediate retail launch.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max models have already been officially revealed, with global availability anticipated shortly. Confirmation of the standard Xiaomi 18’s existence also stands, though its release window remains uncertain, reportedly falling between late this year and early 2027. Whether the base model will ultimately feature any form of 3D capability has yet to be determined.
