Daniel Muñoz Secures Colombia's Spot in World Cup Round of 32

Colombia officially secured their advancement to the round of 32 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup following a 1-0 victory against the Democratic Republic of Congo in their second group stage match.

The only goal of the game was scored by Daniel Muñoz in the 75th minute, breaking through Congo's defense and earning "Los Cafeteros" three valuable points in the tournament.

The match featured the disallowance of three Colombian goals, including attempts from Muñoz and Luis Díaz, amid refereeing controversies and a heated atmosphere on the field.

With this win, Colombia topped Group 11 with six points, while DR Congo remained third with one point, complicating their chances of qualification.

Previously, Colombia had defeated Uzbekistan 3-1 in the opening round.
