Gianni Infantino, the president of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), broke his silence following the recent World Cup final.

He directed a special message to the Argentine national team after their loss in the final match held last Sunday.

Argentina was defeated 1-0 by Spain in the final, with Ferran Torres scoring the decisive goal during extra time. This result prevented the "Tango Dancers" from defending the world title they won in Qatar during the 2022 edition.

The final match was marked by several violent incidents, most notably the sending off of Enzo Fernández after a strong tackle on Pau Cubarsí, as well as Leandro Paredes assaulting some Spanish players following the final whistle.

The controversy extended further when the Argentine players chose to address their own fans and refused to watch the Spanish team lift the trophy, a moment that sparked debate.

Despite these events, Infantino wrote on his Instagram account: "What an extraordinary tournament the Argentine team delivered at the World Cup! An unforgettable comeback and fighting spirit that inspired millions, giving football fans worldwide unforgettable moments that will not be erased from memory."

He added: "Returning to the World Cup final after winning the title in 2022 is the best proof of the excellence and consistently high levels of Argentine football. Thank you for your contribution to making this tournament very special, and for competing with such great passion until the last moments."
