During this match, Messi scored a hat-trick against Algeria's goalkeeper Luca Zidane, equaling the World Cup all-time scoring record of 16 goals held by German Miroslav Klose.
Messi's first victory against the Zidane family came in the 12th round of the 2005-2006 season, when he faced Zinedine Zidane, Luca's father.
