In the previous World Cup edition, Mohamed Salah scored two goals for the Egyptian national team; however, the team did not advance to the next stage of the tournament.

The Egyptian star aims to lead the Pharaohs to a strong performance in the upcoming World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Salah’s remarks came shortly after playing his final match with Liverpool, during which he assisted a goal in the game against Brentford. This contribution helped Liverpool secure a spot in the Champions League next season by finishing fifth in the league.

Since 2017, Mohamed Salah has served as the brand ambassador for Vodafone Egypt. The company’s official social media page shared a video featuring Salah’s message to Egyptian fans ahead of the World Cup.

He stated, “When I left Egypt for Europe, it was my dream that people would feel I had done something good and that they would learn from it.”

He added, “It is difficult to sacrifice your youth and many things to continue performing well and train three times a day.”

Salah continued, “I want to tell the fans that, thank God, I succeeded in making them live a fantastic story that people might not have thought possible at some point.”

He concluded, “We experienced this period in the best possible way, and I am very proud of it. I hope that in the future, players will emerge who achieve more and better than what I have achieved.”

Mohamed Salah recently ended his nine-year tenure with Liverpool. He was honored after the Reds’ final league match against Brentford.
