Greek police announced on Wednesday that two police officers and two civilians were injured as a result of an explosion that occurred inside a building in the center of the capital, Athens.
The police clarified in a statement that the four injured were transported to the hospital by ambulances, according to "Reuters".
A police official, who requested anonymity, said the explosion occurred upon the arrival of police elements at the building located in the Kolonaki area, while they were dealing with a backpack suspected of containing narcotics.
The official added that the police had previously received a call from the building's manager, who reported the presence of substances suspected to be drugs at the entrance, noting that the manager was among those injured in the explosion, which the police are not treating as a terrorist act.
