An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck the Campi Flegrei area, located a few kilometers from Naples, the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology reported, as cited by Agence France-Presse.

The tremor was recorded at a depth of three kilometers, with its epicenter situated in the Gulf of Pozzuoli, a coastal town within the greater Naples region.
