An earthquake registering 4.8 on the Richter scale struck the Baladeh area within the Kazeroon district of Fars province in southern Iran.

The Iranian Mehr news agency reported on Friday that the tremor occurred at a depth of 8 kilometers below the earth’s surface and was felt by residents in several nearby areas.

As of now, no official reports have confirmed any human casualties or material damages resulting from the earthquake, while relevant authorities continue to assess the situation in the affected region.
