Araghchi: Iran-Russia rapprochement at unprecedented level; blames Washington for Hormuz tensions
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the rapprochement between Russia and Iran has reached its highest historical levels, while blaming the United States for insecurity and tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Tuesday that the rapprochement between Russia and Iran has reached its highest historical levels, following his meeting with Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov during the latter's first visit since the outbreak of war in the Middle East in late February.
Araghchi wrote on the X platform, "Never before in our history have Iran and Russia worked with such closeness as they are witnessing today."
Lavrov began a visit to Tehran on Monday to hold consultations with Iranian officials, aiming to "follow up on the implementation of bilateral agreements," according to an official statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
In a press conference following their meeting yesterday, Araghchi called for resolving regional issues through diplomacy, holding the United States responsible for insecurity and tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.
