China and US Hope for Negotiated End to Ukraine War
Beijing and Washington both aim to resolve the Ukraine conflict through talks, China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.

Both China and the United States are working to end the war in Ukraine through negotiations, following US President Donald Trump's visit to Beijing. China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that the two countries are making significant efforts to advance peace talks, according to state broadcaster CCTV.
"Regarding the Ukraine crisis, China and the United States hope to end this conflict soon, and both sides have made great efforts to push peace talks forward," Wang Yi was quoted as saying.
Kremlin Signals Progress on Settlement
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that progress on the settlement path in Ukraine indicates a resolution may be near, though he cautioned it is too early to discuss specific details. He added that President Vladimir Putin is open to meeting his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky.
Russia has consistently stated its readiness to pursue a negotiated solution to the Ukraine crisis, based on understandings reached between the Russian and US presidents during the Alaska summit. These understandings include addressing the root causes of the conflict, which Moscow identifies as threats to its national security.
